The oldest & most modern rugby union ground in the world!

This is the super modern Aviva Stadium located on Lansdowne Road in Dublin City. It re-opened its doors on 14th May 2010 and has a seated capacity of 51,700. Its incredible roof is designed to undulate in a wave-like manner so as to avoid blocking natural daylight to local residences. The Lansdowne Road site has existed since 1872 and prior to its ‘makeover’ in 2006, it was the oldest sports stadium in Europe and the oldest rugby union ground in the World. It is home to both The Irish national rugby team and football teams. The is now Ireland’s only UEFA Category 4/Elite Stadium and has won a number of awards including RIAI & RIBA.
