This was officially certified by The Guinness Book of World Records using archaeological evidence taken from the the wattle and daub walls. The bar is located beside the banks of the Shannon River on an ancient crossing point beside the 12th century Norman castle. The bar was originally known as ‘Luain’s Inn’ and has uneven saw dust floors, ceiling supports, cozy snugs and a pitted fire place to keep people happily drinking and socializing for another 1000 years.
