This beautiful golden sandstone building was formerly known as The Northern Bank Building (It is now a Danske Bank). It was built in 1866 to the designs of the Irish architect Thomas Turner. Turner was a well known and accomplished architect of the time who specialized in Neoclassical and Italian Renaissance designs. It has recently been restored to it’s former glory in time for Derry’s ‘city of culture’ year in 2013.
