Antrim comes from the Irish word ‘Aontroim’ meaning ‘Lone Ridge’. This was once part of the ancient Kingdom of Dal Raida that stretched to the western isles of Scotland. This is a spectacular county with mountains, rivers and geological wonders such as The Giants Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Causeway Coast Road is also regarded as being one of the best road trips in the World. Antrim’s highest peak is Trostan mountain standing at 551m.
