Belfast City

The old Irish name for Belfast is Béal Feirste that translates to mean ‘inlet or mouth of the sandbank’. During the 1800s, Belfast overtook Dublin and became the largest and wealthiest city in Ireland mainly due to linen manufacturing and shipbuilding. The Obel Tower, overlooking the banks of Belfast’s River Lagan, is the tallest building on the island of Ireland and stands 88.31 metres high.
