Durty Nelly’s is located on the bridge beside Bunratty Castle. This was originally a small sheebeen and ‘according to legend’ run by a charming lady called Durty Nelly.  A famous story is that Nelly cured an old greyhound dog of death with her homemade poteen. This led to droves of customers from all over the country seeking “the cure” from her magic recipe for their lame horses, sick piglets, and injured animals. This famous pub on the tourist trail still has an old-world feel and continues to welcome strangers from all over the world to the west of Ireland.
