This pub is situated in the Parish of Eadestown in Kildare. It’s the only parish in Ireland with 2 race courses and 1 pub. This is also Kildare’s highest pub located at 700ft above sea level affording panoramic views of the Midlands. The pub is an ivy clad two story building more than 100 years old. It was built over an existing ancient Road House or Inn that once accommodated horse drawn coaches that traveled along what was then the main road south from Dublin. Kilteel has a 13th century keep and Romanesque ruins. The décor is ‘olde world’, boasting antique red brick walls, pitch pine woodwork and back bar, tiled floors and two Victorian open fire places. This is a typical old Irish pub containing dozens of antique items and other bric-a-brac.
