South Dublin is bordered by the Irish Sea and The Dublin Mountains. Since the Middle Ages a network of castles was built around this area to help protect the people living under English rule from ‘The Wild Irish’ that were ‘beyond the Pale’. Highlights include, Dalkey Village, Dunlaoghaire Pier, The Lead Mines and the stunning Georgian & Victorian architecture. The best views of the coast are from Killiney Hill which is 153m high.
